Kadaj is a remnant of Sephiroth just like his older brothers Yazoo and Loz.
Kadaj is on a constant search for "Mother" ( also known as Jenova).
Although Jenova isnt really Kadaj's mother but because Sephiroth lives inside Kadaj's mind he gets confuzed...
Sephiroth is wanting Jenova so he can come back and Kadaj is looking for a mother to love and care for him and so this is where it all ties in.

Personality:

He is Calm, but brutal. Due to his young age, he is childish but still an intelectual. He is also stubborn. He knows what he wants, and won't let anything get in his way to do so.
