No, the Joker never died although he most likely won't be in the next film.

How about the Two Face? It is heavily speculated that since Two-Face's coin landed on the "clean" side, it meant that he was still alive. Many believe he will be one of the villians in the next film, along with possibly Catwoman and the Riddler.
